Who can open an account

The bank opens accounts for resident and non-resident individuals and companies. Since 19 June 2026, a separate fee schedule has applied to non-resident individuals, published in Georgian and English. The company fee schedule does not distinguish between resident and non-resident companies.

How to open an account

You can open an account at the bank’s head office (2 Saarbrücken Square, Tbilisi) or at the service centers in Kutaisi and Batumi. Under the Silk app terms, new clients can also open an account remotely in the app: registration starts with a phone number, followed by identification with a biometric photo, the application form and a KYC questionnaire.

The bank’s pages do not say whether foreigners can open an account fully remotely, so check this with the hotline in advance.

Documents you will need

The bank does not publish a separate document list for non-residents. Under the general terms, you fill in and confirm an application, present an identity document and complete the identification procedure set by the bank. The list of documents needed to open a company account is not published either.

Fees and charges

For a non-resident individual, opening a main account costs 50 GEL, maintaining the main multi-currency account costs 15 GEL a month, and an additional account costs 1 GEL a month. Each client can have up to 4 active accounts.

For residents, opening and maintaining a main account is free in all packages. For companies, opening a main account costs 10 GEL and maintenance costs 2 GEL a month.

Things to keep in mind

Some links at the bottom of the bank’s website lead to the old site (old.silkbank.ge), where the fees are outdated. Look for the current prices in the new documents published on the account services page. The bank may refuse registration in the app without giving a reason.
