Who can open an account

The bank serves individuals and companies operating in Georgia; its Tbilisi branch opened in 1998 to serve Turkish entrepreneurs doing business in Georgia. Accounts are opened in GEL, USD, EUR and Turkish lira at the same time, and money can be transferred to almost 1,700 Ziraat Bank branches in Turkey.

Terms for accounts of companies registered abroad are not stated on the website.

How to open an account

Accounts are opened at a branch: the bank has branches and service centers in Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi and Marneuli. The website does not describe any option to open an account online or by video call.

According to the bank, its staff serve clients in Georgian, Turkish, English and Russian. Since 1 October 2025, the bank’s hours have been 10:00-13:30 and 14:30-18:00.

Documents you will need

According to the bank’s accounts page, a passport or a Georgian temporary residence card is enough for a foreign citizen to open an account. The account is opened on the basis of an application, once all the documents required by the account opening procedure have been submitted.

The bank asks clients to complete a tax residency self-declaration (CRS); if the information provided is incomplete, access to the account may be restricted. The list of documents needed to open a company account is not published.

Fees and charges

The fees page for individuals does not state account opening or maintenance fees. According to the 2021 fee document for legal entities, opening a current account and monthly maintenance are free. Some pages of the website are outdated, so confirm current prices with the bank.
